Kristen Bell is recalling the time her Nobody Wants This co-star, Justine Lupe, spent about five weeks successfully pranking her.

In the September 28 episode of Bell's husband, Dax Sherpard's podcast, Armchair Expert, Lupe shared details about her prank, which involved her pretending to drink her own urine. According to People magazine, Lupe said she had a feeling she'd be successful with her prank because Bell likes trying new trends for her health.

Bell recalled the first time Lupe lied to her about the new addition to her diet while shooting a scene from Nobody Wants This Season 1, which premiered in September 2024.

"Justine andAdam [Brody]are already in the car chatting — I'm doing god knows what — and I get in the car and I hear her say, 'It's really nutritious and very vitamin-dense.' This entire experience was predicated on my nosiness. So I went, 'What?' And Justine goes, 'Do you ever do this? Do you ever, like, the first urine of the day you drink again?'" said Bell during the podcast episode.

When Bell asked more questions about the situation, Lupe replied, "People do this to reinstall your minerals, depleted minerals."

"I was like, 'No, I don't think that's right,'" said Bell.

Bell then said she was worried about Lupe and asked physician and influencer Dr. Mike about the situation.

"I said, 'I have a friend who is drinking her own urine. What are the risks slash benefits of this? Have you heard anything about it?' He was like, 'Well, honestly, I think it sounds insane, but I don't think it would hurt her.' He said, 'There are a lot better ways to remineralize, like a multivitamin,'" said the actress.

Bell also said Lupe, who shared that the rest of the Nobody Wants This cast was privy to the prank, further committed to the bit by pretending to request a container filled with her urine to be brought to her. Bell also said Lupe let her think she was taking a swig of her urine on set. In addition, Lupe said she convinced Bell that she was giving her containers of the "three of the best batches" she had. Following that moment, she revealed that she had been pranking Bell for over a month.

"She said, 'April Fools.' And it was April 1. It was four or five weeks worth of material," said Bell in the podcast episode.

Bell also clarified that she felt "loved" by Lupe because of her commitment to the prank.

Justine Lupe Teased What Fans Can Expect From the Second Season of 'Nobody Wants This'

As Nobody Wants This fans are aware, Lupe portrays Morgan, a deadpan, opinionated podcaster who works alongside her sister, Joanne, played by Bell. While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in September 2025, Lupe said she has enjoyed playing Morgan.

"It's so much fun. It's such good people. I feel like from top to bottom, it's just a great crew. It's a great cast. It's a great team behind it," said Lupe to the publication.

The Succession actress also said that she believed that Nobody Wants This quickly became a fan-favorite because its "subject matter is just so, like, cozy and happy."

"We're all just starving for some levity that I was just so excited to like put my brain in this space and play such a fun character. And this season it gets even more fun for me," said Lupe during the interview.

She also teased what fans can expect from the show's upcoming Season 2, which starts airing on October 23. She noted that the show has added to the cast with Succession actor Arian Moayed and Leighton Meester, who is married to Bell's on-screen boyfriend, Adam Brody.

"It's going to be really, really fun. It's going to be pretty far out. I'm just so excited. And that romance is still going to be there," said the 36-year-old to The Hollywood Reporter.
