Micah Parsons doesn't need a star on his helmet to be a cardboard star.
With the All-Pro defensive end having faced his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, for the first time Sunday, Parsons' card prices and sales volume have been increasing.
Data from Card Ladder shows a spike for Parsons' cards ever since he was traded from Dallas to Green Bay ahead of the season. His card market is up nearly 75 percent in the past three months, with a high daily volume of $964 on Aug. 28 soon after the trade.
Parsons has been a standout NFL player since being drafted in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, menacing opposing defenses with his cat-quick moves. The Penn State product has already racked up 55 sacks during his career, to go with four Pro Bowl selections and an NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
Parsons hasn't appeared on any in-hand cards as a member of the Packers yet, but he does appear on a Panini Instant card that was sold online.
Here are four of Parsons' top cards:
2021 Prizm #382 Silver
Some of the many parallels of Parsons' Prizm rookie card are green, a fitting choice given his new team's colors. A neon green version of the card numbered to five sold for $610 in August.
Kaboom (any year)
Kaboom cards are case hits and in the case of football, are pretty apt at representing the collisions that define the sport. It just makes sense to see a cartoon version of Parsons on a card with Kaboom! In the background and a holographic explosion behind him.
2021 National Treasures
Some of Parsons' best selling items come from 2021 National Treasures, the top product released during his rookie season. If you're interested in snagging a RPA (Rookie Patch Auto) of Parsons, here's a great place to start.
2022 Donruss Optic Downtown
You'd think Parsons' trade to Green Bay might diminish interest in a card devoted to a city, Dallas, where he no longer plays. But you'd be wrong. Silver Downtown cards of Parsons consistently sell for $400-$600 and a Downtown Gold Prizm numbered to 10 sold on Sept. 1 for more than $4,500.
