If Ralph Lauren's fall/winter 2025 runway was a romantic poem woven with lace, ruffles, rich velvet, and intellectual depth, then the spring 2026 collection offered a distinctly pared-back vision. That's not to say it lacked emotion—far from it. Lauren's gift for capturing the youthful spirit stems from a deep appreciation for the full spectrum of life, and he consistently delivers designs that feel both timely and timeless. This season's assortment was playful yet refined, infused with the effortless lightness of a summer breeze.
The overarching note of the runway was clear: each piece felt wonderfully simple and relaxed. The ensembles floated weightlessly on the models, perfectly complemented by an all-white runway and the soft strains of "More Than a Woman." A white slip dress, seamlessly pinned by a single metal appliqué at the shoulder, appeared even more delicate than Lauren's signature shimmering eveningwear. And yet, subtle complexity remained: as one black sequin skirt passed by, a faint outline of a garter belt emerged in the pattern—a discreet, seductive detail hidden in plain sight.
The more sportswear-driven pieces in the collection naturally nodded to menswear silhouettes—a classic Lauren move—but there was also an easy, intimate narrative at play, as if a couple's laundry had gotten mixed up on vacation, resulting in effortless ease of a borrowed linen suit jacket. Ties made multiple appearances: worn traditionally around the neck and tucked under knit sweater vests paired with fabulously large floppy beach hats, or repurposed as belts, subtly matching panels on crisp white button-downs. One white blazer, casually rolled at the sleeves, made for the perfect layer to throw over a striped cropped T-shirt and knit micro shorts. Footwear was equally relaxed and refined; watching one raffia heeled sandal after another on the runway, you could practically feel the sand between your toes.

Following the finale walk, the designer's wave was met with resounding applause, including from celebrity attendees like Laura Dern, Mindy Kaling, Oprah, Usher, Gayle King, Maggie Rogers, and Naomi Watts. Few designers can consistently boast such pull, and that is a stamp of approval in and of itself.
