Is Today's Sheinelle Jones moving from one New York institution to another?

On Friday, Sept. 26, Bravo host Andy Cohen appeared on Today with Jenna & Friends, where he played a game of Plead the Fifth with co-hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Jones, who was this week's guest co-host.

During the game, which regularly appears on his late-night show, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Cohen, 57, asked Jones, 47, about the recent rumor that she was in line to be cast on the hit reality show The Real Housewives of New York City.

"My phone continues to explode," Jones said of the rumor.

"Okay, well, this didn't get to me," Cohen replied, asking Jones, "Would you ever?"

Jones seemed shocked that Cohen hadn't heard the rumors, noting, "My phone for the last 72 hours has been exploding. I bumped into Jen Ambrose. I talked to everyone on the list, and we're all like, 'Ah!' My neighbors."

After Cohen pressed Jones to answer whether she'd consider joining the cast of the reality show, Jones turned away from Bush Hager, hiding her face with her hands and saying, "I can't, no, stop looking at me."

Bush Hager seemed stunned, telling Jones to "go ahead" as she speculated that her answer would be that she is interested in doing so.

"I plead the Fifth," Jones coyly replied with a smile.

"You can't leave us like that!" Bush Hager said.

"Yes, she can!" Cohen noted. "It's the game. And she left the door open."

Later Jones clarified saying, "Relax, I'm not on this next season. Everyone's like, 'Are you really?!'" and teasing Cohen, "Look at him, he's, like, salivating. It's just good television, leave me alone."

PEOPLE has reached out to representatives for Jones for comment.

Cohen previously revealed there would be some new faces when the Bravo series returned, denying that the show would be cancelled.

"What's so interesting is, last week when I was here, the Bravo execs met with 10 potential new Real Housewives of New York," Cohen, who is an executive producer, said in May on his SiriusXM radio show, Andy Cohen Live. "This is called the casting process between seasons, and it's heavily underway. That's why nothing has been announced."

Season 15 of the show featured cast members Jenna Lyons, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jessel Taank, Brynn Whitfield and Racquel Chevremont.

As for Jones, she returned to the Today show earlier this month after an extended hiatus in the wake of her husband Uche Ojeh's death in May. The mother of three has been open about her grief journey after Ojeh died following his diagnosis of glioblastoma, an aggressive brain cancer. She stepped away from her Today duties in late 2024 in order to spend Ojeh's final months with him before his death.

"If you see me now and you see me laughing, or you turn on the morning show and I'm laughing or having a good time, you root for me because I'm fighting for my joy," Jones shared in her emotional return to the Today show on Sept. 5.
