It was a Hamilton reunion in the Big Apple this week!
Yes, it's happened before with the original cast — but this time, Lin-Manuel Miranda and company linked up in New York for the sake of celebrating the upcoming theatrical release of their filmed production.
On Wednesday, September 3, nearly every member of the iconic musical that debuted back in 2015 was in attendance at The Public Theater's Delacorte Theatre in New York City.
Hamilton (2020), which is currently available to stream on Disney+, will hit theaters on Friday, September 5.
Jonathan Groff was noticeably absent from the group on Wednesday since he's busy performing his current Broadway show Just In Time.
The theatrical release of Hamilton is said to expand upon the version available on Disney+. It includes an exclusive special prologue to the film called "Reuniting the Revolution," which features all-new interviews with the original cast and creators as they reflect on the impact the show has had on their lives, Just Jared reports.
Another noticeable red-carpet appearance at Wednesday's special screening was the movie's director, Thomas Kail — who was accompanied by his wife, Michelle Williams. The celebrated actress, 44, is a hot contender in the current Primetime Emmy Awards race due to her performance in the FX series Dying for Sex.

The filmed version of Hamilton was nominated for 12 Emmy Awards following its 2020 release, and won two.
In honor of the original play's 10th anniversary, Disney announced last month that the big-screen version will hit theaters on September 5 — marking the first time fans can watch the musical in theaters. One could argue this upcoming experience will almost replicate that of seeing the show live on Broadway.
Meanwhile, the stage production of Hamilton is still being performed — with a different cast — on Broadway and around the world, in case you still haven't seen it in the original fashion!
