As one of the most legendary filmmakers of our time, Martin Scorsese certainly has plenty to be proud about...but one of his most meaningful accomplishments isn't an Oscar-winning movie, it's his relationship with his youngest daughter, Francesca.
Francesca, 25, has been making home movies with her famous dad since she was a kid, so her wildly popular TikTok content featuring Martin make perfect sense. Not only are the videos hilarious (often involving the 82-year-old director participating in social media trends), but they shine a spotlight on the pair's tight bond. In a sweet video shared to the platform this week, Francesca and her father rested their heads against each other, both looking into the camera, before a montage of photos of the pair throughout her life played.
"I would choose my dad to be my dad in every lifetime again and again and again," read the text overlay on the clip.
Commenters couldn't help but get emotional over the post, with one writing, "Stop I'm crying pls," and a second admitting, "This made me cry."
"You're lucky...not just because of who your dad is, but because of the beautiful relationship you have with your dad. But I'm sure you knew that already," another fan added, with someone else declaring, "Honestly I'd choose ur dad to be my dad too."
In a 2024 interview with People, Francesca opened up about how she and her dad started making TikToks, admitting the whole thing started "because we were sitting in our living room after dinner and I was bored and we weren't really doing anything."
"I thought people were just going to be like, 'Holy crap, that's Martin Scorsese, what is he doing on this app?' Which a lot of the time it is."
"I realized those videos got a lot of likes and I was like, that's kind of crazy," she continued. "But also people really enjoyed seeing them. People love seeing him doing these things and the more normal side of him. People see this big, big star and incredibly talented person, which he is, but also [they see] the dad."
Francesca went on to say that she "saw people doing videos with their parents and I was like, I want to do that. I don't get why I shouldn't not do that."
"It just makes sense to me — I'm a total daddy's girl. We're best friends. And I saw people doing this with their dads and I was like, I want to do it. So I did it and I realized that people not only loved him, but they loved our relationship. I love that because I love our relationship and we're very goofy with each other," she said, adding, "He always says that I make him silly — he's like a big kid. I say he's like a 15-year-old in an 81-year-old man's body. He is like — a certified silly goose, exactly!"
