Jennifer Aniston opened the doors to her serene Los Angeles home during a recent interview with 'Vanity Fair'

The actress explained how she's incorporated a number of "healing modalities," including crystals, to create a sense of "calm" in her home

Aniston is passionate about interior design and often refers to it as her "love language"

Jennifer Aniston's home is a calm oasis in the midst of all the chaos.

The Morning Show actress, 56, gave Vanity Fair's Julie Miller an inside look at her $21 million L.A. abode for the magazine's September cover story. When Miller expressed how Aniston's midcentury home immediately made her feel calm, the actress warmly noted how that's the exact feeling she wants her home to evoke.

"Good! That's the whole point," Aniston said. Motioning towards the outside world, she added, "Out there, it causes nerves. In here, there should be no nerves."

The Friends alum later explained how intentional she was when decorating her home, and how each detail is meant to bring herself and all her visitors a sense of peace.

"I've basically incorporated all of the healing modalities in order to create a calm environment in the chaos of the wonderful industry and the world at large," she said.

Some of these "healing modalities" include a number of crystals that adorn her coffee table, including raw amethyst and a white crystal for clarity. The table also boasts an incense holder with crows on it as well as a number of design books.

Aniston's sanctuary has the "anxiety-suppressing effect of a spa," especially with "no screens or ambient sound" heard throughout the space, Miller writes.

Designed by famed architects A. Quincy Jones and Frederick Emmons, the home maintains a serene atmosphere with a pale color palette that includes "cream couches, white peonies, and white taper candles," per the writer.

The LolaVie founder also appreciates a spectacular view, as her home is equipped with a panoramic window taking up an entire wall and offering views from Downtown L.A. to the Pacific Ocean.

During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in August, the Murder Mystery star opened up about her love of interior design, and how both she and her Friends costar Courteney Cox share the same passion.

Aniston noted how their conversations often revolve around design, which tends to bore everyone else in the room.

"We usually talk interior design," Aniston told PEOPLE, referring to her longtime friend. "It kind of bores people to tears when we get into a room together. But it's what we love. It's our love language."

She added that her algorithm is now filled with all things architecture, which helps her to stumble across inspiration rather easily. However, she tries her best not to doom scroll.

"I try to stay away from the noise as much as possible," she explained. "Thankfully, my algorithm is animals, architecture, hair and spiritual affirmations. So it's not that doomy."
