‘So Sick of This BS,’ ‘Refs Need Investigation’ — Outrage Erupts After Controversial Decision Leads to Chiefs’ Loss vs. Broncos

The Kansas City Chiefs nearly pulled off a comeback against the Denver Broncos, but a controversial penalty in the final seconds laid waste to their chances.

With the Chiefs trailing 28-24, Patrick Mahomes appeared to connect with Rashee Rice for a game-winning touchdown. However, officials called a false start on right tackle Jaylon Moore, wiping out the score and leaving fans frustrated.

Chiefs Fans Furious After Controversial False Start Call

Replays showed Moore barely moving before the snap, making only a slight movement as Kelce went in motion, but the officials stuck with their call.

The five-yard penalty pushed Kansas City back to the Denver 6-yard line. On the final play, Malcolm Roach sacked Mahomes, sealing the Broncos’ 28-24 victory.

The controversial decision quickly became a talking point among NFL fans, with several expressing their frustration on social media.

One fan wrote, “The league’s trying to prove they don’t rig it for KC by rigging it against them.”

Another fan focused on the replay, arguing that Moore’s movement did not warrant a flag. “It was not a false start; the entire o-line turned their heads at the same time for the play call. He didn’t even flinch or jump.”

One frustrated commenter brought up the Philadelphia Eagles, writing, “Meanwhile, Eagles O-line doesn’t even need to set before snap. So sick of this bs.”

Another user added, “No false start, refs need investigation.”

One fan, however, pointed to Kansas City’s defensive struggles, saying, “Refs and bad defense cost them this game.”

Andy Reid Questions the Call as Jaylon Moore Takes Responsibility

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid was not convinced by the officials’ decision when asked about the penalty after the game.

“I didn’t see it,” Reid said post-game. “That’s one man’s opinion. I saw him move his head, but I didn’t see a false start.”

Brittany Mahomes also made her frustrations clear in a rant on Instagram.

Moore, meanwhile, took responsibility for the situation, even though he had not yet reviewed the replay himself. “I mean, I’ve just got to be better,” Moore said. “I still haven’t gotten a chance to look at it, but, regardless, I’ve just got to be better. With [the game] being so tight, the situation that it was, it just hurts even more.”

While the late false-start call proved costly, Kansas City cannot place the entire blame on the officials.

Before the penalty, Kansas City had a first-and-goal at Denver’s 4-yard line. Kenneth Walker picked up three yards on the ground, bringing the ball to the 1-yard line. However, the Chiefs failed to score on their next three attempts, leaving the door open for Denver.

The Chiefs also failed to build on their 11-point lead, allowing Denver to rally and take control of the AFC West. Back-to-back losses leave Kansas City at 5-2 as it looks to bounce back against the New York Jets in Week 9.
