Yahoo Sports Staff Updated Fri, November 6, 2026 at 1:21 AM UTC About Our Ads Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement In this story The Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens open Week 9 on "Thursday Night Football," with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Jaguars (5-2) enter with a three-game lead in the AFC South behind quarterback Trevor Lawrence, who leads the league with a 112.6 passer rating and an 8.6% touchdown rate. Jacksonville also ran for a season-high 183 yards in its first game after the bye, with Bhayshul Tuten and Chris Rodriguez Jr. sharing the load.
The Ravens (4-4) are in a much different spot. Two-time MVP Lamar Jackson landed on injured reserve this week with a thumb injury, and backup Tyler Huntley reportedly suffered a season-ending toe injury in relief of Jackson last week. That leaves undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano, Baltimore's third-string quarterback, to start Thursday's prime-time showdown .
Help appears to be on the way, as the Ravens have reportedly agreed to trade for veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett from the Arizona Cardinals. Brissett lost his starting job after Gardner Minshew replaced him in the second half of Week 8 and rallied Arizona past the Dallas Cowboys. He'll get a fresh start in Baltimore once the deal is official.

A stuffed run gives the Jaguars 3rd-and-goal at the 1.
On 1st-and-goal, Lawrence and Boerkircher fail to connect on a wide-open short pass into the end zone. Football is a funny game.
With Trevor Lawrence scrambling, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey took his eyes off Jaguars tight end Nate Boerkircher and it cost Baltimore big time. Lawrence finds Boerkircher over the top of the defense and it's a 52-yard gain.
Two players later, a 16-yard pass to Jakobi Meyers puts Jacksonville at the 1-yard line.
The Jaguars return the opening kickoff to the 23-yard line and we're off in Baltimore.
The Baltimore Ravens turned heads in the spring when they signed undrafted free agent quarterback Diego Pavia , one of the biggest personalities in recent college football memory.
The undersized Pavia, a Heisman Trophy runner-up at Vanderbilt, didn't even make it to training camp before he was waived .
Another former UDFA QB the Ravens inked back in April , however, was still with the organization by the time the preseason rolled around. That's 25-year-old Joe Fagnano, a Williamsport, Pennsylvania, native who spent seven seasons playing college football in New England.
He went through a bit of a winding road through his college year

Moneyline odds: Jaguars -550, Ravens +410
Lawrence, who was one of my preseason value picks for NFL MVP, has been solid to say the least. He's thrown 17 touchdown passes against just four interceptions, racking up just under 1,700 yards in the process.
Now, Lawrence faces a Baltimore defense ranked the sixth worst against the pass and that gave up 71 points in its losses against Cincinnati and Buffalo. Joe Burrow and Josh Allen combined for six touchdowns through the air in those defeats.
Lawrence has cleared this number five times in seven games, including the aforementioned matchups against Houston (four) and Indianapolis (three) in London.
My gut feeling is that head coach Liam Coen is going to try to put this game out of reach in the first half, which means he will open up the playbook for Lawrence and his receiving corps. Combining that with the fact that Tuten is dealing with ankle/foot issues , I could see Lawrence reward backers of this prop play in the first half.
The Jaguars travel to Baltimore to take on the M.A.S.H. unit that is the Ravens' remaining roster on Thursday night. Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley? Both out on IR. Third-stringer Joe Fagnano will start, but is dealing with an ankle injury. Baltimore is reportedly trading for Jacoby Brissett, but he won't be playing this week. To put a little context into the state of both teams, this line was Ravens -4.5 this offseason, it re-opened Ravens +8 on Sunday and got as high as +10.
The Jaguars are only 4-3 against the spread this season, but they're coming off a 42-7 rout of an undermanned Colts team. Baltimore has talent on both sides of the ball, but this is a big ask for Fagnano — on a short week and with an injury no less. There are some Jacksonville -9.5s out there in the market. I'd jump on one of those or put Jacksonville in a 7-point tease with the 49ers -9.5 to get both under a field goal.

After being listed as questionable for TNF, Jaguars running back Bhayshul Tuten is officially active for Week 9's prime-time matchup against the Ravens following a successful pregame warmup.
Tuten's started all seven games for the Jaguars this season and is averaging just over 96 scrimmage yards per game, with six total touchdowns on the year. He managed his first 100-plus rushing yard game last week against the Colts, finishing the game with 159 scrimmage yards and two total touchdowns.
With less than 90 minutes remaining until the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens kick off, each team has announced its inactives for Week 9.
