R&B icon Tamika Scott took to Instagram to rave about a waitress's kindness.
The Xscape member posted about a trip she and her daughter took to The Juicy Crab in Buford, Ga. In the Saturday, Aug. 16 video, Scott and her daughter, who goes by Young Niyah, went to the seafood restaurant at the end of the night.
The singer alleged that several servers ignored the two women, leaving them standing by the door for five minutes. She said, "Four of them turned their backs. No one helped us."
Representatives for The Juicy Crab did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
Scott then said that one waitress finally came over to help the pair and took them to a table. As they took their seats, Scott said that she saw some employees whispering.
"Never judge a book by its cover," Scott said. "Be nice to everybody." She continued, explaining that because the server was kind, she was "going to bless her."
Scott said, "And all the girls who turned their backs, all the girls who didn't want to wait on me and was talking and whispering, do not get this tip. Be patient, because you never know when you're going to be blessed."
She counted a stack of cash, which she referred to as "a small token of love," and presented it to the server.
"Are you guys sure?" the woman asked in the clip. "Thank you guys so much! I genuinely appreciate that. Y'all just made my night."
"Stay who you are," Scott responded. "Don't let nobody ever change you."
The musician echoed the sentiments of her video in the post's caption. "I don't look for special privileges. I believe EVERYONE should be treated fairly, no matter their color, sex or financial status!!" she wrote. "You never know what a person is going through. Be kind and never turn your back on anyone!"
