Some users say they've observed a wierd change to Netflix film descriptions[/caption]

Films on Netflix sometimes function a description that allows you to know what's in retailer.

However a Reddit thread with dozens of upvotes claims that these descriptions have lately turn out to be worse.

The unique poster wrote: "Annoying movie descriptions give no plot intro, simply accolades.

"Has anybody else observed a great variety of films with completely meaningless title card descriptions? Looks like a relatively current change.

"Eg. for Dune: 'This cinematically spectacular adaptation picked up six academy awards.' OK great, that tells me nothing…

"It is genuinely frustrating as I don't need to lookup what every film is about, and never all of them have trailers."

It's unclear whether or not Netflix has made any modifications to the best way it exhibits its movie descriptions on its apps.

The U.S. Sun has requested Netflix for comment and will update this story with any response.

One consumer advised a potential cause: "They've in all probability accomplished AB testing on issues like 'description A vs. description B' and labored out that individuals are extra more likely to watch a movie with the obscure description.

"Though I agree you with, it's irritating."

Netflix has admitted to using A/B testing up to now.

"We take a subset of our members, often a simple random pattern, after which use random task to evenly cut up that sample into two teams," Netflix explained.

"Group 'A,' typically referred to as the 'control group,' continues to obtain the base Netflix UI experience, whereas Group 'B,' typically referred to as the 'remedy group', receives a special expertise."

So it's potential that some users may be seeing totally different film descriptions if they're part of a check group.

Netflix noted: "Each member is often part of several A/B exams at any given time, offered that none of these exams conflict with one another."

However whatever the case, Netflix fans appear indignant concerning the reported change.

One consumer wrote: "Yes, I did….and it p***ed me off.

"Like Netflix is telling me 'right here's a movie, watch it or not, no matter…'"

One other replied: "I feel their objective is to utterly break the consumer experience for whatever cause. It's working"

A special consumer stated: "Yes, I find that annoying too."

And one added: "YES! It's so annoying!

"If you choose the title, the first episode will give their little blurb about it. It doesn't offer you an entire concept, however for me, it's been sufficient to determine."
