"They have been the mother and father of that younger baby woman. They put their relationship and their view of life earlier than the lifetime of that little child woman.

"Fairly than act in the obvious greatest pursuits of a weak child, one which they need to have cared for and taken care of, they determined as an alternative that they knew greatest.

"This led to them camping in freezing and obviously harmful circumstances on the South Downs with inadequate clothes, gear and meals never once looking for any medical consideration or assistance.

"And it was this grossly negligent and obviously harmful conduct that triggered the demise of their baby daughter and which results in them sitting earlier than you on trial on the Previous Bailey."
